The stigma and shame associated with mental health issues are primary reason so many Americans choose to suffer in silence. Society often views mental illness as a sign of weakness or a character flaw, leading individuals to feel embarrassed or ashamed of their condition. This has lead to the growing number of those who are struggling in silence. The conversations surrounding mental health, depression and suicidal ideations are taboo conversations that leave a lot of people left to feel there is no hope or support. We envision a world where no one feels alone in their struggle— where every hidden cry is heard and seen, every life is valued, and speaking up becomes a bridge to healing. We at I AM THE VOICE OF SUICIDE hope center exist to be a voice for those who suffer in silence, while providing a safe space to be creative as a form of therapy.
